Description:
The research and the following design activities are focused on two epochal transformations: on one side the evolution of the LED lighting technology with the new possibilities of lighting management and control; on the other side the social transformation of the population with the emerging aging phenomena. These two issues are opening new possible research lines, are defining innovative scenarios in the lighting sector fostering new exploration in new application fields of lighting systems for elderly and users with vision, movement or mild cognitive impairments. The aim of the research is to improve the quality of life and comfort in residential housing for seniors and elderly through the realization of a lighting system based on a detailed technical, scientific, ethnographic and marketing research.
